MEET THE TEAM
Desmond Anderson - President CEO
Desmond Anderson, currently residing in Houston Texas, he founded Standard Directional Services in early 2014. Mr. Anderson has over 30 years of global experience in the petroleum industry. Starting out on the drilling rigs, he has worked toward developing Standard Directional into an internationally recognized Directional Drilling services provider that specializes in developing innovative drilling technologies. Desmond has been specializing in MWD and directional operations for over 25 years and has successfully managed operations for multiple large service providers like Precision Drilling, Axis Energy, and Nabors Drilling. Desmond is an inventor, technical trainer, and multiple patent holder of Standards proprietary MWD technologies. Desmond serves as president and is also the manager of Standard’s engineering team, that works in toward the continual improvement and development of new robust reliable high speed MWD tools.
Desmond’s overall experience stems from his successful career working, training, and leading teams from all over the world. This path has molded Standard Directional Services into a technology based company filled with experienced, talented partners, clients, and consulting.
Geoff Rollins - Chief Operating Officer COO
Geoff Rollins is the Chief Operating Officer of Standard Directional overseeing Operations, Engineering & Manufacturing, IT, and Legal. He is an Oil and Gas Professional with many years of diverse technical and leadership experience. Mr. Rollins has a proven track record of delivering superior results in the Directional Drilling Industry. Geoff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in operations, drilling, engineering, capital/operating budgeting, and business development.
Before joining Standard, Mr. Rollins held several senior management roles at D&R Directional Services where he spent over 10 years of his Oil and Gas Career.
Rob Stewart - VP Operations
With more than 30 years of leadership experience in the oil and gas industry, Rob serves as the Vice President of Operations delivering top tier services to operators in Canada and around the globe. Rob spent the last 16 years as Vice President of Operations at D&R Directional Services. He developed and implemented actionable safety goals responsible for Health Safety Environment (HSE), asset management and operational excellence. Prior to D&R, Rob started his directional drilling career with Schlumberger. After 10 years working both in the field and office, Mr. Stewart became the Directional Drilling Manager where his technical and leadership-based skill sets resulted in many successes for the company.
Rob has been instrumental in the strategic growth and operational success of every company throughout his career. He has a proven track record of best-in-class performance while delivering innovative solutions to the client.
Salvador Berberov - Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Salvador has a background is in Electronics, electrical engineering in combination with Software Development with companies such as GE Downhole tools, Precision Directional Drilling, Axis Energy and now Standard Directional.
Services Sal has over 30 years of experience in his field, specializing in quality assurance and electrical engineering. He is the engineering lead in Standard Directional’s technology and research and development group that have over 6 issued patents locally and internationally. He continues to assist in developing our Harsh Environment MWD platform that will change the definition of reliability and efficiency in the global directional drilling market.
Kyle Dorowicz is our new Business Development Manager here at Standard Directional. After graduating high school in Olds AB, Kyle joined the Olds Grizzlies of the AJHL for three seasons before attending SAIT here in Calgary. After three years of school and hockey at SAIT, Kyle left in 2009 with a Business Administration Diploma and a Chemical Process Operations Certificate. Since then, Kyle has amassed over 13 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Although he has spent most of his professional career in oil and gas production operations, he also has experience in account management and business development roles. When away from the office Kyle loves hockey, hunting, fishing, golfing, and boating, but especially enjoys these hobbies with his wife Jennifer and their three young boys Carter, Cooper, and Casey.
Ashley Crawford is Standards Business Development Specialist; she has 16 years in the sales and customer service industry. Ashley started her career in the Finance area and quickly made her way up to sales in the Facility and Pipeline Industry. She has made her mark in downtown Calgary, and we are pleased to have her as an integral part of our team.
