Garrett Bertamini

Rodeo Steer Rider

Acme, Alberta’s 14 year old Garrett Bertamini had the chance to compete under the big lights at the Junior National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas at the Convention Center in 2018. Bertamini, a 14 year old in his fourth year of stear riding joined 26 other riders from Canada, the United States and Australia in his age category.

At the age of only eight, Garret’s rodeo journey began and he aspired to “be like the big kids behind the chutes who were steer riders, so I went to the Johansen Brothers Steer Riding School and that’s what started it all.” After getting into steer riding he came to love “the adrenaline rush of the sport and of being just me against the bull. I also enjoy the people in rodeo; they are great people and very supportive.”

Standard Directional is a proud sponsor of this young man and his career ambitions.

“You want to be the pebble in the pond

that creates the ripple for change.”

Rowan House Society

Rowan House Emergency Shelter is a short-term (30-day) women’s emergency shelter located in High River, AB. Our purpose is to provide a safe, supportive environment for women and their children fleeing domestic violence and in need of emergency housing.

The daily needs of families in shelter can change on a regular basis depending on times of year, family sizes and the ages and genders of children. Donations allow us to access what our residents need the most and ensure all our programming not funded by the government, including our Preventative Education, can continue to operate. They need your help today to make a difference!
